Anyone for coffee (sacks)?

I went to Columbia Road market this morning to buy some tulip bulbs. Returning to Liverpool Street via Brick Lane, I came across a stall selling coffee sacks.

Well, they were irrestible at £1-2 each, so I bought a couple.

I have no idea what I’ll do with them yet – probably something involving felt – but I’m sure inspiration will strike!

Flextiles uses shibori, ecoprinting and felting to create original, one-off upcycled pieces. Extending the life of a garment by an extra nine months reduces its environmental impact by 20-30%.

  1. Hi Kim
just to look at these bags is heaven !!! I like sewing and would sew fancy jackets lined with some ,,old,, Hermes foulars !!
have a nice Haloween…. nothing like this here YET, thank God !!or Allah

  2. Hi Silvia,

I don’t think my sewing skills are up to making jackets – cushion covers are about my limit!

But I’ll send you some coffee sacks if you send me some Hermes foulards! 😉

  3. Got a load of them myself and was wondering what to do with them. Thought I might be able to use them in our ski chalets on the snow to stop people slipping. Any ideas much appreciated.
