Impressions of Sicily

I’ve been absent for a while, celebrating a significant birthday in Sicily.

So here are a few snapshots of textures, patterns and forms that I saw. I particularly loved the marble inlay in the Capella Palatina in Palermo (as well as the Byzantine mosaics and carved Saracen-style ceiling, which I didn’t get any photos of).

  1. Your photos have brought back great memories of our trip to Sicily a few years ago. I also just loved the mosaic tile designs, the architecture, the history and the great food and markets.
